Freedom Rec Softball Registration

If you have questions or want to pay in cash we will have 2 walk-in sessions Saturday  January 7&14 at Freedom Optimist Hall upstairs from 10-2.

Girls Rec. Softball Divisions are as follows:
Pre K-Kindergarten (must turn age 5 by Sept. 1, 2017)
1-3 grade (Coach/Machine Pitch)
3-4 grade (Kid & Machine Pitch)
5-7 grade(Kid Pitch)
8-12 grade(Kid Pitch)
Emphasis is placed on fun and instruction.

Registration is not considered complete and players will not be assigned to a team until payment is received.

Refund Policy:
There is a $20.00 non-refundable administrative fee on all registrations.

Before March 15, 2017 - 100% less admin fee
After    March 15, 2017 - 0%

Practice begins in March 15 for Grades 1-12.
Season begins for all divisions April 8- June 10.

We will be holding free pitching instruction clinics in  January & February 2017 for Grades 3-4, 5-7 and 8-12 Divisions.  All pitchers or potential pitchers are encouraged to attend.  We will have indoor pitching practice session from January through March.  Register for sessions during sign-up.   Times and exact dates to be determined.  We will also hold an indoor catching clinic, and some outdoor fielding hitting and clinics. Additional information to follow.

If you wish to be a Team Manager, Assistant Coach, Team Parent or Volunteer in any other way you MUST register online.  Please note - all Team Managers & Assistant Coaches will also be required to additionally register with Carroll County - instructions can be found on our website.   www.fdosoftball.com

County Heat Policy & Thunder and Lightening Policy


HEAT:  Approximately 30 minutes prior to the start of the activity, temperature and heat index reading should be taken at the site or from www.weather.com or a comparable source.  The following are recommended guidelines for coaches, program leaders and volunteers to follow with regards to Department sponsored youth activities:

Heat Index: 80-89              
Use caution; monitor athletes carefully for necessary action.

Heat Index: 90-104
Use extreme caution; remove helmets and other equipment if not involved in contact.

Heat Index: 105-129
Alter uniforms by removing items where feasible; practice should be shortened with low intensity & limited conditioning.

Heat Index: 130 & above

NO PRACTICES OR GAMES.  ACTIVITIES SHOULD BE RESCHEDULED FOR EARLY/LATE IN DAY OR AN ALTERNATE DATE WHEN HEAT INDEX IS LOWER. 

THUNDER & LIGHTENING POLICY

At the first sound of Thunder or the first sighting of Lightening - all activities are to be stopped and participates are to clear fields to a protected area and wait 30 minutes before activities are to resume.  Any additional occurrence starts the 30 minute count over.

Winter Inclement Weather Policy



PROCEDURES FOR FACILTY USE DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER
If the snow emergency plan is in effect, all CCPS and non-CCPS sponsored activities are canceled.

If the snow emergency plan is in effect, activities are canceled.

If the snow emergency plan is not in effect, it is the decision of the principal.
If the snow emergency plan is in effect at 8 p.m. on the preceding day, all activities are canceled for the non- school day.

If the snow emergency plan is lifted after 8 p.m. on the preceding day and a school would like an exception to hold an activity or event, they must contact their school director.  If he/she agrees that the request rises to the level to warrant an exception, he/she will seek superintendent approval. (Note: Exceptions will not be made for routine games or practices. It must be an exceptional situation)

If the inclement weather begins on a non-school day and the snow emergency plan never goes into effect, it is the decision of the principal.

Should the snow emergency plan go into effect while an event is underway, the event shall be concluded and participants are to vacate the facility as soon as practical.
The Office of Community and Media Relations will be responsible for communicating all AlertNow messages regarding cancellations due to inclement weather.

TO CANCEL ALL CCPS AND COMMUNITY-SPONSORED ACTIVITIES IN CCPS FACILITIES
